Concept

Yellow Tale Magazine is a publication dedicated to showcasing the diverse talents and perspectives of the Asian American community in film and media. Through its content, the magazine examines the history and evolution of Asian American media and promotes diverse representation in the industry. By providing a platform for Asian American media makers to share their experiences, Yellow Tale inspires and empowers the next generation of creators.

Approach

To bring the vision of Yellow Tale Magazine to life, it was important to design that is both loud and edgy, while also incorporating white space and column play for a modern and sophisticated feel. Yellow Tale uses the font Offbeat in its logo to show that they are a publication that is not afraid to be loud and take up space. The cover of the magazines have bold color combinations to stand out on the shelf. The layouts of the magazine use complex grid systems and white space to help the text and imagery live harmoniously on the page but also add a touch of elegance to it.
