Concept

West Wind, a bed and breakfast located in upstate New York, draws inspiration from the Greek myth of Eros and Psyche. The aesthetic of the brand reflects a blend of darkness and romance with a touch of gothic vibes. West Wind targets couples who seek an unconventional and luxurious romantic experience. The brand name, West Wind, pays homage to Zephyrus, the wind that flew Psyche to the palace to be with her lover.

Approach

West Wind's aesthetic is a fusion of dark and romantic elements, a mix of dark blues and bright pink was used, which symbolizes the tragic yet romantic elements of the Eros and Psyche myth. To further enhance the brand's sophisticated and feminine aura, the Flora Display was used, a high-contrast serif that creates a crisp, feminine spirit with an essence of grace and modernity. To bring out a gothic touch to the brand, a textured halftone treatment was used on old sculptures and engravings, which adds a vintage aesthetic and a feeling of depth to the brand. The toiletries bring the halftone treatment to the front with how large the imagery is alongside the product’s information.

Key Card

West Wind balances both the romantic pinks and dark blue on their keycard. The diamond like pattern at the bottom is inspired by Greek vases.

Other Stationery

The engravings incorporated on the stationery are from the story of Eros and Psyche. The soft pink brings out the sophisticated feminine aura of the typeface, Flora.
